I had hip arthroscopy arthroscopy surgery in April this year at Trafford general hospital to repair a labral tear, cyst removal and microfracture surgery due to having shallow hips since birth which has only just showed up due to my age! ( I will need hip replacements in 10 years.) Before the surgery for a least three years I had been in absolute agony when walking even for 10 minutes, I could not longer walk my dog and I am only 46 years old! On the day of my op I was up and about although I could only partially weight bear for 4 weeks. I had a small amount of pain for a coupler of days but after this had full movement in my hip joint, I was advised by Dr Kim that riding a bike and swimming would enhance my recovery whilst only partially weight bearing, which I did, after 4 weeks I could fully weight bear I went to Las Vegas and was able to walk without pain which I have not done in 3 years. I am totally delighted with the surgery and the care that Dr Kim and his staff provide me with. I am still undergoing physiotherapy to ensure my hip and muscles stay strong. I urge anyone who is in the same dilemma as I was to seriously consider this surgery. Thanks again Dr Kim for giving me my life back. Mrs D Egan

In the past I had been to see a number of Doctors over the constant pain and discomfort in my left hip, as soon as I met Mr Kim he sat and listened to everything I had to say. I had a steroid injection a few years back and this helped to ease the pain but once it worn off Mr Kim suggested a Hip Arthroscopy. He sat and talked me through what would happen before, during and after the operation. I went to have the operation at The Spire Hospital. He came to see me before I went down to double check I was doing okay. Everything went smoothly and the next day I was discharged. Im now 9 months post-op and pain free for the first time in 25 years! I can sit with my legs crossed without being in agony. I cannot Thank Mr Kim or recommend him enough. He is the man!

I went into hospital for knee surgery, Mr Kim was my surgeon, he was absolutely fantastic, he talked through the procedure with me before the surgery and put me totally at ease, he also came to see me after the surgery just to make sure I was ok and if I had any questions. I was back at work 2 weeks after surgery and after 6 weeks the tiny incisions are barely noticeable. Mr Kim was recommended to me and I would definitely recommend him, he is a very caring person and great at his profession, customer service was second to none.

I've been operated last year (June 2014) by Doctor Kim for a meniscal tear + chronical ligament sprain on left knee. And this year, in April 15, I had to be operated for a meniscal tear on the right knee. The damage was more than the doctor expected. But the operation has gone smoothly. I had 3 weeks off to recover. That gave me time to rebuild my confidence. I've been followed by the physiotherapist Allison Bugg and I have done a lot of work out to re-muscle my operated knee. A bit more than 6 weeks after the operation, I've met Doctor Winston again. And he is very happy about my right knee and I feel great. I've even done a 4 hours ramble in the Peak District last weekend, and I had no pain at all, the day after. Which is unusual for me when I do a day walk! Not even a swollen knee ! So these are good news and I look forward walking again in higher mountains. I have great confidence on Doctor Kim job. Thanks a lot again for your help and support. Jean Philippe Barret

My name is Nick Pearse, and I am a professional actor. I was referred to Mr Kim in March 2015 with a suspected lateral meniscal tear of the right knee (sustained during a live theatrical performance), and he performed a partial meniscectomy in the following April. Those are the dry facts - I'd like to add some detail to that by saying that as a consultant, Mr Kim listens, and explains details of both the injury and the required surgery very well and very clearly; and as a surgeon, well, I was told to expect to be on crutches for up to four weeks after the operation. I was off crutches after two days, started physio within a week and half of the op, and now, eight weeks later, I am almost back to full fitness - I think that speaks volumes about Mr Kim's skills as an orthopaedic surgeon. In addition to the above, Mr Kim is a very warm, friendly, and caring person, who displays a genuine interest in his patients, all of which means that I would, without hesitation, recommend his surgery and services to anyone unfortunate enough to need orthopaedic surgery.
